Mechanically Stabilized Earth Walls, consist of a facing element combined with horizontal soil reinforcement to retain backfilled and compacted soil. Modular Gabion Systems may be utilized in the construction of MSE walls faced with gabion baskets or wire mesh panels with Anchor Mesh Panels providing horizontal soil reinforcement. MSE Walls may be constructed as a cost-effective alternative to gravity wall structures and are ideal where steeper slopes (batter of 70 degrees or greater) are desirable as is often the case for bridge abutments and wing-walls.
