Reno Mattresses are flexible double twisted woven wire mesh boxes with dimensions 6.0 x 2.0m in plan area and are divided into cells by double diaphragms across the width of the unit and at not more than 1.0m centres. Diaphragms are double sided and integral with the base providing an increased resistance to rock movement when compared to single diaphragms. Double diaphragms also facilitate easier cutting and shaping of Reno matresses to match the channel profile.

Coating Reno mattresses are available with different levels of coating protection for durability in a wide range of environments and climatic conditions. Reno mattresses are manufactured from Galmac (Zn-5%AL MM alloy) coated wire offering about three time greater protection than zinc coated wire mattresses.

Where Reno mattresses come in contact with more aggressive environments then an additional polymer protective coating is applied over the Galmac coating to maximise the level of protection.
RockfillDense round or quarried stone is normally used to fill Reno mattresses. To ensure the durability of the structure the rock should be weather resistant, non friable, insoluble and suffiently hard. The most appropriate size falls in the range of 80mm to 0.6 x depth.
